Get In Shape Girl!

Do you remember that game from our child-hood? I loved that stuff! I'd get all gussied up, Olivia Newton-John style and have at it!

Then I turned 10 and turned into a lazy bum. But NO MORE. In order to have another kid, I need to lose pounds and take care of my body. And let's face it, I need a daughter. I love pink too much.

So, I have been turning to my trusty Wii. The Hubs jokes that I am more of a gamer than he is these days. My routine:

Basic dancers warm-up on "Just Dance"... If you have taken any sort of dance class, you know the routine. Head up, down, left right, side to side, turn in circles. Side stretch. Reach to toes, etc...

Check in on "Wii Fit Plus". This includes weighing in and calculating my BMI. Ugh. I am not one that gets discouraged by weighing in often, though I can see how it can screw with your brain. Do a few tests and get my Wii Fit Age. I'm usually in the lower 30s, so that is good!

Hop over to "Your Shape" by Jenny McCarthy. I'll do a review on this game at another time. I have had to fiddle with it to get to my liking. It can be really annoying but if you ignore some features, its great! I'll do 20 minutes there. The game sets up a training schedule for you, based on what you want to improve. Today it was all cardio! I was pooped!

Then I head back to "Wii Fit Plus" which I just love. I'll do another 20 minutes here. I'll try to balance out whatever "Your Shape" had me to. Today I did some arm strengthening stuff. Here, I can also log other activity.

Then, I treat myself to some "Just Dance". I'll do a longer review of this in a separate post. It is so much freaking fun! It just totally takes me back to my swing choir/theater days. I'll log another 20 minutes on this.

Then I finish up with some stretching and cooling down.

That is about one hour of activity when it is all said and done. And I really feel the difference between days I do it and days I don't. Now I just need to make it a priority, especially with The Buddy is napping.
