How could I forget?

So, I did the massive run-down of things for which I am thankful. And I forgot a huge part of my life. Many years ago, I joined a weight-loss online community. Since then, I have become acquainted with probably hundreds of woman (and a few men!) from all over the country (and world). Many of them have become friends. A few of them have become great friends. In fact, I was on the phone with one of them when I first laid eyes on my husband, six years ago.

In any given day we share recipes, work-out tips, parenting ideas, ideas, shopping-bargains, secrets, clothes. We have lost weight, jobs, friends, men. We have been though dating, engagements, weddings, marriages, divorces, breakups. We have witnessed BFPs, BFNs, pregnancy woes, birth stories, miscarriages, baby pictures, post-partum issues. We have all suffered deaths of parents, friends, siblings, fiancés, grandparents, children, pets. We have changed jobs, homes, haircuts, schools. We have debated cash bars, diet pills, breast feeding, death penalty, music, politics. We have vacationed together, cried together, laughed together, drank together, gossiped together and grown together.

Most of these women I have never met. The few that I have, I’ve only met a few times. There are many that I doubt I’ll ever meet. But I cannot imagine my life without them.

Me - "He will get off the plane"

Me - "Maybe I should get off the phone now"
