No. Not the show from which I could quote until I die. The people you call upon when you need an ear, laugh, cry, drink or to help you carry the body. What?
One of my major goals is to really jump into our new lives here in Indy. I started in choir as soon as I possibly could. Right now, it seems the choir isn't very social, but you all know I'll change that!
The Hubs has coworkers, but is busy with work and its travels. One thing that he is doing to meet people is attend a retreat at our parish. In fact, he is on that retreat right now! I pray he is getting from it what he needs.
A few weeks ago, I attended a dinner held by a society at my church. It was a nice dinner, a Catholic comedian (I know, right? If you get the chance, check out Judy McDonald. Hilarious!), and a silent auction. I was seated next to a sweet girl about my age, who also has a three year old little boy. She asked me if I'd like to have a play date sometime, and I said yes. Thinking this was just like my man-dating life, I figured I'd never hear from her. But, she added me on Facebook and messaged me. And even when I didn't respond (I SUCK) she texted me!
So, we packed up our boys (and her adorable 1 year old girl) and headed to the Children's Museum downtown. The boys played together well, and our conversation never lacked. It was a great first date, and she offered to grab drinks or hit up the Farmers Market sometime too - even without the boys!
Slowly but surely, we're meeting people!
Glad you're adjusting to the new "world" back there. . . . . with Spring in full bloom we're getting ready to plan bar-b-ques and other fun stuff in the back yard. Missin' you guys big time.
