Just like my weekly list of chores, I also have a few things
I do daily. I find dedicating 15 minutes each day makes the weekly stuff that
much easier. As for monthly, I really only have changing the furnace filter and
the scent plug-ins. I can’t think of much else?
- Kitchen
- Clear and wipe down sink
- Wipe down counters and stove
- Clean problem spots on floor
- Hold/hang dishtowels
- Clean as you cook
- Wipe up fresh spills
- Sweep floor
- Wipe table
- Trash
- Fill/empty dishwasher
- Living room
- Tidy sofa
- Pick up crumbs
- Wipe tables
- Clear clutter
- Put away toys
- Fluff sofa & pillows
- Bedrooms
- Make bed
- Dirty clothes in hamper
- Straighten up dressers
- Put away clean clothes
- Close closet doors
- Bathrooms
- Wipe out sink
- Clean mirror
- Wipe toilet seat/rim
- Spray shower with spray
- Clean counter
- Office
- Clean up emails
- Pick up mess
- File & sort mail
I also have concocted a daily schedule to keep me on track.
I am a creature of habit and really get stressed when things are out of order.
I won’t bore you with the minor details… But I have a wakeup time, 30 minutes
before the kid, to ready myself. I feel I am more accomplished as a SAHM if I
get up and dress like a “normal” person going to work. Then (if he isn’t
already up) I get up the kiddo, change him and let him hang out while I take
the dogs out for a quick potty. We have breakfast and then while he plays, I
empty the dishwasher from the night before and start the laundry for the day. I
have penciled in time to head out for Moms Group meetings, story time or to run
errands. Once home, its time for a small snack and then a short nap. During his
nap, I get my daily cleaning done. He wakes up for lunch and more play time! Mom
gets to play Wii Fit during this time, too! He usually needs a second nap by
now, so down he goes. During this time, I’m in the office cleaning up my email
inbox, blogging, etc… Hes up around 3, just in time for Ellen! He has a snack
and plays some more. During Ellen and Oprah, I tidy up and start dinner. The
Hubs is home at 6, so I try to have dinner ready so we can eat as a family
before E has to head to bed. Then, dad gets E ready for bed while I clean up
from dinner. We enjoy quiet evenings (if I am home) watching TV then head to
bed to read before falling asleep. Lather, rinse, repeat.
3:00. Nap over. Time for Ellen and a snack!
