I Dreamed a Dream

Last night, The Hubs and I caught the the 25th Anniversary Concert of Les Miserables on public television. It is a costumed concert version of the musical, not the fully staged show. Les Mis - as it is affectionately known - is probably one of my very favorite shows out there.

The story is amazing. Have you read the book? It is a beautiful story about France and its revolution. There is murder, intrigue and of course, romance. I went all out and read the unabridged version, but there is a shorter, friendlier version out there, I am sure. My uncle Joe made my aunt Staci read the book before he would take her to the show. I think that is pretty cute.

The show however is just beyond words. The music. The costumes. The set and scenery. I get goosebumps just thinking about it. I cry just listening to the CD. I have seen the show love about three times. I remember sobbing hysterically when it was over.

I was watching last night. And I just got so INSANELY jealous. There are people out there that are amazing singers. And they get paid to do it. They get to dress up every night and go on stage and entertain people. I hope its their dream and they truly love every moment of it. If they don’t, I’ll gladly take their place! I certainly cannot sing like them, but I sure do have the passion.

And wouldn’t you know it. Les Mis comes to town next month. Hint hint.
