* Candy had a mega-crush on Rock Hudson. So much so that she thought "rock candy" was made for them. So she learned how to make it as a kid. And her first date with Aaron was to Rocks. She was so nervous that she hid in the bathroom the whole time.
* As of like, 1983, you could watch PrimeTime 7 days a week for 3.5 years and never see an Aaron Spelling repeat. And this was just at the beginning of Dynasty's run. Long before 90210 and Melrose Place!
* Candy hums. I would have shot her.
* She has 3 wrapping paper rooms. One of them has a kitchenette in it, because she gets carried away.
I did find it odd that Tori says that pretty much her most important person growing up was her nanny and Candy doesn't mention a nanny at all.
Really, you can skip this book, unless you care at all about Manor tidbits. However, they say if you read 3 books on one subject, you're an expert. So I've now ready Toris first book, plan to read her 2nd and have read Candys. Aaron has a book as well. I'll be a Spelling expert in no time!

"CandyLand" - Candy Spelling
I have read Stori Telling (and am on the list to get Mommywood from the library). Candyland was ok. Clearly, Candy isn't the brightest crayon in the box. She states from like, page one, that she was raised to be the trophy wife. To cook, clean, entertain and support her husband. However, she really seems (or is edited to seem) sweet enough to make up for her brains. Aaron seemed to wanted her to blend in while showinig her off. I kept getting mad at the archaic-ness of this, but then remembered they are a very different generation. And culture. She never set out to marry a rich dude. Hell, Aaron wasn't even that rich and famous when they went on their first date. Some cute tidbits that I learned:
