Finally, life started springing up! First, Omaha and its Rosenblatt Stadium. Home to the College World Series. I worked here a bit when I was in my first job.
Then, across the river, and the first sign of intelligence since leaving Denver:
| There's no place like home. |
Speaking of bridges, we rolled through Madison County. They didn't look very book- or movie-worthy to me?
We stopped in Grimes for a short visit with my aunt, then ventured on to my parents house in Ankeny for the night. We took off the next day around noon (after a much needed stop at CJs Bagels). Because we left E-Boo in Ankeny, it was a super quiet trip! Of course, we had to stop at the Worlds Largest Truckstop.
Saw this heading down the road. You're doing it wrong.
Our only "kids" for Leg Three. Aren't they cozy?
We rolled through Peoria around dinner time. We were hungry and one of our favorite restaurants (and location of or wedding reception) has a location in Peoria. However, we were in sweats and didn't want to stop, so we called and got take out from Johnny's Italian Steakhouse. I had the Betta Bruscetta. Bread, goat cheese and tomatos. How is that for road trip munchies?
FINALLY, we got to Carmel IN to check in to our hotel. We close the next day!! We were pooped!
