spit and polish

Its no secret - I am a girly-girl. I love pink, glitter, ribbons, etc. Of course, life handed me a Bouncing Baby Boy. No ruffle butts for me. So, I sink that passion into myself. The stylish people at MAC Cosmetics send me holiday cards, thanking me for keeping them in business...

Recently, I've renewed my love of nail polish. When I was working, I had money to burn on twice monthly fills on my acrylic talons. Now, I don't have that cash, the time, nor care to treat my nails that badly. So, I've taken to painting my nails at home. Of course, this means I need a nearly full-fledged salon in my closet.

Enter, The Drawer.
Isn't it pretty?

The Drawer was one of my biggest concerns when it came to the move and its logistics. Moving companies don't move liquids or hazardous materiels. I was making plans for shipping it or stashing it all in the spare wheel compartment of my car. But the big day came, and the (horrible) moving men threw it in a box with all of my other bathroom stuff. I nearly cried when I unpacked my Collection. My Pretties were home!! And in good time, as my nails were a reck from the boxes, tape, painting and everything else that comes with a new home.

I change my polish every 2-3 days. Not because of the need, but because I like variety. It is also my down-time. "Hubs, I can't change E-Boos diaper, my nails are wet!". *evil laughter*

I recently invested in the Color Lock System by Zoya. It holds up really well over the course of a few days. I really am liking the Renew Drops. Some brands (I won't say which, but rhymes with Jessie) clump up on me REALLY badly. The drops make them good as new!

This line is great, doesn't have any of the "big 3" - some of the nasty chemicals usually found in polish. They are hard to find - they have a few shades stocked in Ulta stores, and around in salons. I get mine by following their Face Book page and stocking up when they release deals.

Of course, having a color named "Stacy" lured me in. I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff!
