I was fortunate enough that my 32nd birthday fell on a Wednesday, so I was able to celebrate with the music ministry at our former parish. A few times a year, the director ends rehearsal early, and the group moves into the great hall for some snacks, wine and fellowship. Usually, this is at the beginning of the "year" and just after big events, such as Advent or Triduum. My birthday was such an evening, so my dear friend Christy also brought me a cake! It was great having a glass of wine and seeing my music friends one last time before moving.
Earlier in the evening, I went to dinner with the Whole World Market committee. Marice knew that with The Hubs traveling, I don't put a lot of effort into cooking, so suggested some real food for our goodbyes. I was greeted with flowers and some tasty banana bread to take home. It was a quiet, but nice evening seeing friends and saying goodbye.
E-Boo knew it was his birthday, but that is about the extent of it. So last Saturday, we invited our local family and friends over to see our house and celebrate the Big Boy! We had some snacks and drinks and cake. E-Boo has a cousin that is just six months younger than him, so they had fun playing. Of course, after he woke up from his nap - Birthday Boy nearly slept through his party!
